Sensitive and uplifting accompaniment to worship
In recent years I have accompanied services in Canterbury Cathedral, Bristol Cathedral, Portsmouth Cathedral and Southwark Cathedral, have played for performances of Fauré’s Requiem, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb and broadcast live on BBC Radio 4’s Sunday Morning Service.
I was a regular accompanist for services and student performance at the Church Music Foundation Degree Study School based at Canterbury Christ Church University.
In my role as Organist and Choirmaster, I accompany services weekly at St Stephen’s Church in Canterbury. Accompaniment includes choral music from across the last 500 years, hymns and psalms; solo organ music from a similar time period, carefully chosen to fit the liturgical season, is used at the beginning and end of services.
Recital performances include St Mary’s Church, Banbury with music by Bach, Stanford and Lefebure-Wely and the first recital on the organ at St Stephen’s Church, Canterbury, following its rebuilding.
